The original Silent Hill arrives on PC after 27 years
The original Silent Hill, a classic of the PlayStation 1 era, has finally arrived on PC in a native version after 27 years. Developer SlickAmogus is behind the port, allowing players to experience the survival horror adventure without the need for emulation. Although the game is complete, it's not perfect, with issues reported in boss battles, audio, cutscenes and weapon usage. However, SlickAmogus has brought significant improvements, including high frame rates, larger resolutions and FPS stability. The experience, featuring a fixed camera, does not support mouse control. The game, never before released on other platforms, can now be played at higher resolutions and with more frames per second. The Silent Hill recompilation is a fan project, with new updates expected to be released to improve the survival horror experience. Konami, the game's creator, is reviving its intellectual property, with a remake of the adventure in development by Bloober Team. This marks a new chapter in the Silent Hill saga, with the possibility of players experiencing the adventure on different platforms and configurations.
